#TBT BECAUSE WE ALL LOVE A BEFORE & AFTER - MONOCHROME NURSERY, LONDON
This weeks TBT is this beautiful nursery in NW London. The brief was to create a gender neutral nursery for an expectant couple who didn't know the sex of their little bump. A cool space with no room for twee. Turning the smallest room in the Victorian mid terrace to a functional little persons room. A perfect example of 'Making Space for You'. Perhaps a corner for privacy whilst nursing to escape the visitors or a quiet spot in the early hours, a spot to grow together, reading, playing and eventually sleeping!
Its a much loved space on our social media channels mainly due to its complete ease and accessible qualities. Its a look that can be achieved easily but ensure you add texture, some tactile pieces and objects that show YOUR families personalities. Otherwise the room may look a little harsh and graphic. Not something conducive to a good nights chilled sleep.
Be mindful of where to spurge and save. The much loved star of the show is the Miffy night light a kids design classic. Which is worth a splurge as it will be with you for many years and I believe its resale value will be high. A bed or cot is worth the expensive (think comfort and cost per use!). Save on toy storage and artwork. These then can easily be changed as the baby grows and you inevitably tire of them and need an update.
