#TBT BECAUSE WE ALL LOVE A BEFORE & AFTER - KENSAL RISE BATHROOM, LONDON

Bathrooms always make the best before and afters. Perhaps its because its a room that changes infrequently and it is quite an investment. Its also one of the rooms in the house where mistakes can can be expensive and you can look at the wrong decision for years. I also think there is something so cleansing about a new bathroom. Have you ever moved into a property and the bathrooms never felt like yours (no matter how much bleach or Mr Muscle!) until its been gutted and replaced?

This bathroom is no exception its a fantastic #tbt. The layout was completely reconfigured and the sanitary ware moved position. This instantly made the most of the small footprint.

The client wanted a Moroccan spa feel. I think the overall look is a lot more sophisticated and modern. The vanity unit is custom built with custom stone concrete top. The flooring is mixed patterned tiles in soft tonal greys. The walls are a relaxing soft blush pink. The mirror really makes the room feel like an extension of the house as opposed to a sterile environment. The many decorative accessories and art add to the unique feeling of this room.

Aside from the clients project management skills and exquisite taste. This project is a great example of a great builder/client relationship. Where together you make the end result come to life..even if it isn't the easy or conventional options. Choose your builder wisely..you can have the best ideas and products in the world but if its put together in a slap dash approach and the finish isn't five star...well you we be looking at the shoddy job every time you spend a penny for the next decade ! ;-)
